The Chinese are getting the message

Few days after the Trump administration unveiled tariffs of up to 30% on imports of solar panels, JinkoSoalr, a global solar leader from China, with over 15,000 employees across its 8 productions facilities globally, today, announced that “its wholly-owned subsidiary, JinkoSolar (U.S.) Inc. (“Jinko U.S.”), has signed a major master solar module supply agreement to provide 1.75 GW of high efficiency solar modules over approximately three years. The Company’s Board of Directors has authorized JinkoSolar to finalize planning for the construction of an advanced solar manufacturing facility in the U.S. A Jinko spokesman declined to provide more details on the planned U.S. factory or say whether the move was prompted by Trump’s tariffs. By manufacturing products in the U.S., Jinko could avoid having to pay the new tariffs on goods it sells in the country, according to some news reports.

200MW PV solar power plant located in China, has been developed by Jinchuan Group Co.
