
The UAE plans to increase its power generation to 21 GW by 2030 through various projects. These projects, both planned and under development, are comprised of 26.8% nuclear, 24.3% coal-fired, and 22.5% gas-fired. Solar capacity is expected to contribute 26.1% of the total additional generation capacity. These plans include a 2.4 GW Dewa clean-coal facility and the 5.6 GW 4-reactor Barakah nuclear facility.43
